About Us
Saysutshun is part of Snuneymuxw First Nation Traditional Territory. It is a beautiful place to spend the day with family, go on a natural adventure, or as a unique and stunning setting for your next corporate or private event.
The island is accessible by passenger ferry or private boat. The ferry, run by Saysutshun Ferry Service, is a ten-minute ride from Maffeo Sutton Park. It runs every half hour, every day, all year. Pets, bicycles and camping equipment are accepted for a very nominal fee (but please make sure Fido stays on a leash!) – click here for fees and schedules.
If you have a private boat, you can moor it at the dock, or in the calm waters of Mark Bay.
While you are here, make sure you check out everything our park has to offer – our bistro and campsites allow you to extend your stay so you can take your time to enjoy the beaches, parkland, wildlife and 22 kilometers of well-tended trails. Explore on your own or contact us to arrange a Saysutshun Interpretive Walking Tour with a Coast Salish guide who can enlighten you about the history, natural medicines and cultural significance of Saysutshun.
Of course, if you are looking to plan a really memorable event – anything from a family reunion to a corporate retreat or elegant wedding – we have the experienced staff and facilities to turn your ideas into reality. Find out more in our Special Events section.
